Guidelines for SUCCEEDS
placements

The student agrees
arrow To attend for work for the hours agreed with the employer.
arrow To attend for the agreed length of the placement.
arrow To make clear the effects and implications of his/her disability, and any particular access or other requirements, before the placement is agreed.
arrow To contact the SUCCEEDS Project Manager as soon as possible if there are any difficulties regarding the placement, or if, after agreeing, he or she is not able to take up the placement.
arrow To keep a record of the placement, with particular reference to new skills learned, and to the relevance of the placement to long-term career plans.
The employer agrees
arrow To provide clearly defined work which is at an appropriate level
arrow To make clear to the student the length of the placement, the hours of work, and what is expected of the student.
arrow To provide work which gives a realistic experience of employment.
arrow To ensure that all relevant staff are briefed as necessary in advance of the placement.
arrow To evaluate the student's performance and to provide feedback both to the student and to the SUCCEEDS Project Manager.
